Helen Sharp Boone, 91, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of New Madrid, Mo., died Friday, May 17, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 26, 1910, at Marston, Mo., daughter of Floyd Edward and Mabel Barnes Sharp. She and George Dawson Boone were married April 30, 1936, at New Madrid. He preceded her in death March 19, 1963.
Boone was a school nurse for the New Madrid County School District. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and a member of the Lucy Jefferson Lewis chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in New Madrid.
Survivors include a son, William Edward "Bill" Boone of Dexter, Mo.; two daughters, Ella Hunter Underwood of Huntsville, Ala., and Helen Claire Schott of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Cora Jett of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Visitation was Sunday at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Father Gerald Brown will officiate with burial in Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
