ANNA, Ill. -- Helen K. Bird, 94, of Anna died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, in Vienna, Ill.
She was born Nov. 12, 1909, in Mound City, Ill., daughter of William H. and Anna Brashere Reed. She and James Virgil Edwards were married in June 1928. He died in 1967. She later married John Sullivan and Lloyd Bird, who also proceeded her in death.
Bird was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, Ill., where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was retired from Choate Mental Health Center and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Guerro of Pueblo West, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Ruth Karraker of Anna, Betty Bishop of Carbondale, Ill.; two stepsons, Earl Bird of Goreville, Ill., Donald Bird of Elgin, Ill.; seven granchildren; five great-grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; 35 stepgreat-grandchildren; and 11 stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, four sisters and a brother.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Monday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, with Joe Aldridge and the Rev. Albert Moore officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
