SIKESTON, Mo. -- William Heath Self, 21, of Sikeston died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in a vehicle accident near Sikeston. He was born March 2, 1983, in Sikeston, son of Dewayne and Wendy Baker Self. SIKESTON, Mo. -- William Heath Self, 21, of Sikeston died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in a vehicle accident near Sikeston.

He was born March 2, 1983, in Sikeston, son of Dewayne and Wendy Baker Self.

Self was a 2001 graduate of Sikeston High School, and was a varsity letterman in football, baseball and basketball. He was majoring in physical education at Southeast Missouri State University.

He was employed by Jay Reed Construction Co. He was a counselor for Missouri Sport Crusaders Basketball, member of Baptist Student Union at Southeast University, and a member of Miner Baptist Church where he taught the first-grade Sunday School class.

Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Jared and Thomas Self; maternal grandparents, Don and Rita Baker; and paternal grandparents, Don and Jerrolyn Self, all of Sikeston.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sikeston Field House. The Rev. Mitchell Jackson and Jason Grubbs will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
