HAZEL STRICKLAND

Funeral for Hazel Strickland of Florissant, Mo., will be held at 7 p.m. today at Parker Road Baptist Church in Florissant. The Rev. Keith Simon, a grandson, and Dr. Robert Griffin will officiate.

Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Mo.

Friends may call at the church after 5 p.m. today.

Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant is in charge of arrangements.

Strickland, 77, died Monday, July 24, 2000, at her home.

She was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Stoddard County, daughter of Robert and Hallie Shelby. She and Marion Strickland were married Nov. 21, 1942. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Robert Strickland of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Joyce Strickland of Chicago, Linda Simon of Jefferson City, Mo.; a brother, Bob Shelby of Bartlett, Tenn.; six sisters, Dora Bomar of Cape Girardeau, Maxine Hill of Sikeston, Joy Honig of Encino, Calif., Freeda Kinsey of Marion, Ill., Verna Scheffer of Denver, Colo., Jo Whitehead of Emporia, Va.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
