PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Hazel Anna Schumer, 90, of Perryville died Friday, March 30, 2001, at her home.
She was born Jan. 1, 1911, at Perryville, daughter of Rudolph C. and Flora M. Cissell Huber. She and Otto J. Schumer were married June 12, 1933. He died Oct. 20, 1988.
Schumer was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Perryville, where she was involved in Ladies Sodality. She had worked as a nurse's aid for 24 years at Perry County Memorial Hospital and was a longtime volunteer at the hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Sonja Dobbleare and Dolores Hudson, both of Perryville; two sons, John Schumer of Perryville and Jim O. Schumer of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Grace Weinkein of Perryville and Irma Sissin of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a son.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Perryville. The Rev. Kevin Fausz will officiate, with her body being donated to the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
