Hazel Lena Saupe, 90, of Shawneetown died Monday, July 7, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 2, 1913, in Groton, S.D., daughter of Art and Emma Jensen Lenling. She and Edmund Saupe were married Dec. 13, 1933. He died May 12, 1957.
Saupe was a clerk 25 years at Holzer's Super Value in Tiber Lake, S.D., retiring in 1984. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shawneetown.
Survivors include a daughter, Marlene Graves of Shawneetown; two sisters, Carolyn Merkel of Glencross, S.D., Adeline Rorvig of McLaughlin, S.D.; and a granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Mann officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
