ADVANCE -- Hazel Ann Jones, 85, of Advance died Monday, July 14, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 29, 1911, in Rumbranch, daughter of Woodfil A. and Elzie Irwin DeVore. She and Charley Jones were married Dec. 18, 1933. He died March 15, 1963...

ADVANCE -- Hazel Ann Jones, 85, of Advance died Monday, July 14, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 29, 1911, in Rumbranch, daughter of Woodfil A. and Elzie Irwin DeVore. She and Charley Jones were married Dec. 18, 1933. He died March 15, 1963.

Jones worked at Inland Shoe Co. 30 years. She was a member of Advance United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a son, Charles Jones of Sherman; a daughter, Marie Allison of Advance; two brothers, Raymond DeVore of Albia, Iowa, James DeVore of Vancouver, Wash.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters, and two brothers.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4:30-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Price officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
