Hazel L. Hitt, 89, of Jackson died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Feb. 25, 1916, in Jackson, daughter of Charles C. and Minnie Stoffregen Lowes. She and Harold L. Hitt were married April 16, 1933, in Blytheville, Ark. He died July 14, 1990.
She worked at the former A&P Grocery Stores in Jackson and Cape Girardeau and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Survivors include three sons, Harold L. Hitt of Tupelo, Miss., Jerry Hitt of Millersville, David Hitt of Jackson; a daughter, Brenda Rhodes of Fenton, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and a great-grandson.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
