JACKSON, Mo. -- Hazel E. Hennecke, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Dunklin County, daughter of Edward Eakins and Zelma Summers. She and Walter J. Hennecke were married Dec. 16, 1931. He died April 5, 2000...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Hazel E. Hennecke, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Aug. 25, 1916, in Dunklin County, daughter of Edward Eakins and Zelma Summers. She and Walter J. Hennecke were married Dec. 16, 1931. He died April 5, 2000.

Hennecke was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, Mo. She was employed by Voorhes Greenhouse and the former Noah's Ark Daycare in Fruitland, Mo.

Survivors include two sons, Bob R. Hennecke of Sullivan, Mo., and William Hennecke of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Anna Marie Brucker of Benton, Mo., Francis Hitt of Cape Girardeau, Connie Myers of Marble Hill, Mo., and Donna Voorhes of Jackson; two brothers, Claude Eakins of Janesville, Wisc., and Scott Grizzell of Little Rock, Ark.; six sisters, Manola Sinn and Erma Ellinger, both of Scott City, Mo., Virgie Kies of Cape Girardeau, Rosie Dreyer of Frohna, Mo., Louella Fiegel of Conway, Ark., and Oma Dell Clark of Lindenhurst, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and one grandson.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson .

Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Howard Mueller officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
