Hazel Dorothy Settle, 83, of Fredericktown, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Oct. 12, 1909, in Madison County, daughter of Benjamin Harvey and Nancy Ellen Kennedy Kemp. She and Everett Settle were married Dec. 14, 1928, at Greenville.
Settle was a member of Twelve Mile Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, J.D. and Kenneth Settle of Fredericktown; five daughters, Mary Kennedy of Cape Girardeau, Nancy Rauls, Dorothy Miller, Marge Young, and Billie Stewart, all of Fredericktown; a brother, Stanton Kemp of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Virginia Forbes of Fredericktown; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sisters and a brother.
Funeral service was held Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Chapel in Fredericktown. The Rev. Darrell Pogue officiated, with burial in Marcus Memorial Park.
