HAZEL ALLEN

JACKSON, Mo. -- Hazel M. Allen, 91, of Jackson died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, at Jackson Manor.

She was born June 30, 1909, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of John and Minnie Smith Grimes. She and Cecil Eugene "Gene" Allen were married Oct. 23, 1926, in Cape Girardeau. He died Oct. 18, 1968.

Allen was a member of First Baptist Church, its choir and a Sunday school class.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Schwartz of Cape Girardeau; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, three sisters, and a grandchild.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Brian Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
