FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. -- M. Hayden Pogue, 80, of Fredericktown died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 25, 1928, in Madison County, Mo., son of Claude and Ethel Lashley Pogue. He and Opal Wagganer were married Sept. 20, 1945, in Madison County.
Pogue was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, working in his garden and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Lonnie (Linda) Pogue of Maryland Heights, Mo., Tim (Connie) Pogue of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Brenda Pogue of Fredericktown; a brother, Billy (Delores) Pogue of Fredericktown; two sisters, Bonnie (Chester) Tesreau of Fredericktown, Glenda (Lowell) Stroup of Tuolumne, Calif.
Also four grandchildren, Amber Higgins of Maryland Heights, Chris (Kari) Meyer of St. Peters, Mo., Moretta (Tyler) Burk of Cape Girardeau, Tina (Jeff) Umfleet of Farmington, Mo.; eight great-grandchildren, Zach Higgins, Ryan, Madison and Alex Meyer, Devin and Taylor Rawson, Jackson and Emma Umfleet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, nine brothers and a sister.
The funeral was held Thursday at Follis and Sons Funeral Home in Fredericktown, with Lindell Sikes officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
