Hattie Pearl Smith, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 25, 2000, at Beverly Health & Rehab in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 8, 1923, in New Albany, Miss., daughter of Lawrence and Susie Holland Hunt.
She married King Smith Sept. 20, 1959, at Steele, Mo. He died in 1984.
She was a resident of Cape Girardeau since 1960, and was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau where she did missionary work.
Survivors include four sons, Hubert Rutherford and Walter E. Smith, both of Cape Girardeau, and Willie C. Graham and W.C. Graham, both of New Albany; four daughters, Laura Withers, Ethel L. Smith and Josephine Newsom, all of Cape Girardeau, and Shirley A. Sanders of Kansas City, Mo.; 42 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at New Bethel Baptist Church.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
