On Sunday, May 26, 2019, Harvey Tobin of Cape Girardeau left this life and now is in the presence of and praising his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was born Jan. 27, 1932, to George E. and Inger C. Tobin in Pierpont, South Dakota.

The youngest of three children, he grew up on the family farm, where he spent most of his life, save for two years in the early 1950s when he served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Yakima, Washington. There he met and married the love of his life, Dorcas Swier, in 1955. After farming for 35 years, they moved to Cape Girardeau in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Dorcas Tobin; son, Greg (Libby) Tobin of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Camilla (Andre) Carter of Arlington, Texas; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and both siblings.

A private service is planned.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-America Teen Challenge and will be accepted at the funeral home.
