HARVEY SOMERS

Harvey "Buzz" Somers, 62, of Morley, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 21, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Nov. 14, 1937, in Butler County, Mo., son of William Henry and Lillian Weaver Somers. He and Joyce Manies were married in June 1956, and she preceded him in death. He married Janet Somers in 1977, and she died in February 1992.

Mr. Somers was retired as a self-employed house contractor.

Survivors include a fiancee, Gracie Stovall of Morley; two daughters, Mendy Hendal and Shelly Somers, both of St. Louis; two brothers, Jesse C. Somers of Naylor, Mo., and Willis F. Somers of Harvielle, Mo.; two sisters, Mamie Shepard of Neelyville, Mo., and Minnie L. Pickard of Qulin, Mo.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. today at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran, Mo.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dennis Cebulak officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery in Corning, Ark.
