HARVEY HEAD

SIKESTON -- Harvey Woodrow Head, 80, died Friday, July 31, 1998, at Sikeston Health Care.

He was born Aug. 24, 1917, son of Joel and Ida Stroud Head in Mammoth Springs, Ark. On Oct. 3, 1936, he married Alice Marie Stroud. She died April 7, 1987. He was a retired employee of the Himmelburger-Harrison Lumber Co. and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include three sons, Harold Head and James Head, both of Salcedo, and Roy Head of Pflugerville, Texas; a daughter, Donna Hinkle of McAndrews, Ky.; a sister, Thelma Hanna of Rockford, Ill.; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Ron Beardsley officiating. Interment will follow in Essex Cemetery at Essex.
