Harvey E. Cotner, 70, 2800 Pioneer Drive, died Wednesday, June 8, 1994, at his home.
He was born Sept. 1, 1923, at Neelys Landing, son of James and Prudence McClard Cotner. He and Gertrude Exler were married April 6, 1947, at Egypt Mills.
Cotner helped establish Cotner and Green Electric Co. in 1961, and in 1968 he bought out Green and changed the name to Cotner Electric. The business is operated today by his sons.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and VFW Post 3838, past member of Trinity Men's Club, Trinity Lutheran School Board of Education, and East County Fire District Board. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ronald and Keith Cotner of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Phyllis Price of Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Virgil Cotner of Cape Girardeau, Earl Cotner of Scott City, James Cotner of St. Charles; three sisters, Evelyn Snyder, Beulah Loucks and Margaret Wilson of Cape Girardeau, and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Church in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. David Dissen officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery at Egypt Mills.
