Harumi Sasaki Bounds, 63, of Cape Girardeau passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born Sept. 6, 1950, in Nagasaki, Japan, to the late Mitsuo and Masayo Sasaki. She and Emmett "Butch" Bounds Jr. were married March 27, 1974, in Sasebo, Japan.
Harumi was of the Buddhist belief. She enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking Japanese food and rescuing animals, especially cats.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Emmett "Butch" Bounds Jr. of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sandra L. Bounds of Portland, Oregon; and five beloved cats.
Graveside service will be at noon Thursday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with Larry Accord Jr. officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, hssemo@semopets.org.
