Harry V. Casey, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1993 at his home, 421 N. Frederick.
He was born June 30, 1914, the son of Thomas and Maggie Dalton Casey.
On Aug. 24, 1940, he married Grace Nowak in Stapleton, Neb. She survives.
He is also survived by one son, John Casey, Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Mary Jiedinghagen, St. Louis, Rose Bower, Pensacola Fla.; one brother, Joe. Casey, Belle Chasse, La.; two sisters, Irene Osborn Poplar Bluff, Maggie Rheinberger, Festus; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
One daughter, three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
He moved here in 1965 from North Platte, Neb. and worked as a pipefitter with Local 562.
He was a member of the United Association member for 50 years and the Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge.
He worked on the Manhattan Project at the Oak Ridge Atomic Plant, was an avid sportsman and a member of the St. Mary Cathedral Parish.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Cathedral with the Rev. Michael Zoellner officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. Parish prayers are planned Friday at 7 p.m. and an Elks service at 7:30 p.m.
