Harry William Trust, 92, of Jackson passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 9, 1923, in Perryville, Pennsylvania, the son of Lutellas Fred and Francis B. Nebel Trust. He and Anna Mae Delores Horn were married Jan. 1, 1945, in St. Louis.
Harry was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from Feb. 24, 1943, to Feb. 7, 1946, when he was honorably discharged. Harry worked for the federal government in St. Louis for 25 years, retiring in 1986. He and his wife moved to Jackson in 1995.
Harry was a member of American Legion Post 158, the Honor Guard and the National Active and Retired Federal Employee Association, Perryville, Missouri, Chapter.
Harry enjoyed meeting new people; he never met a stranger. He will be missed by many.
Loving survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, Anna; two sisters-in-law, Margy Shumway of Cape Girardeau and Catherine Horn of Union, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Cletus Trust; and a sister, Lucille Kiley.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, with an American Legion Honor Guard service at 7 p.m., followed by parish prayers.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Florissant, Missouri, with full military honors.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America or to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.
