Harry D. Ruesler, 92, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born March 25, 1919, in Oak Ridge, to Charles and Emma Grebe Ruesler. He and Olga Best were married Sept. 27, 1947, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Harry honorably served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from July 2, 1941, to Nov. 30, 1945.
He worked many years as office manager at the former Moon Distributing Co. in Cape Girardeau, retiring in the mid-1980s. He had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since his marriage to Olga.
Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Olga of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Gerald Ruesler of Cape Girardeau and Michael (Linda) Ruesler of O'Fallon, Mo.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Kay Ruesler, on May 12, 1998; two brothers, Willie and Edmund Ruesler; and a sister, Delia Mangels.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to time of service Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Interment will be in Cape County Memorial Park with military honors.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
