BLOOMFIELD - Harry N. Norman, 79, of Memphis, Tenn., died on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1993, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Nov. 8, 1913, near Dexter, son of Andrew and Sarah McAllister Norman.
He married Lillian Edwards in 1936. She died in 1955.
In 1957 he married Betty Kennedy True.
Norman worked as a deputy county clerk, then for Bennett Wholesale, ran his own bookkeeping service and later accepted a position as a cashier at the Bank of Bloomfield.
In 1972, Norman was elected Stoddard County Treasurer and Ex-officio Collector; a position he held until his retirement in 1985.
Norman was a member of the First Baptist Chruch in Bloomfield, a member of the Bloomfield Lodge #153 A.F. & A.M., the treasurer of the Bloomfield Cemetery Board and the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Michael Norman of Anderson, Ind., Donald Norman of Jackson; a sister, Louella David of Massullon, Ohio; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, a daughter and two brothers.
Friends may call at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield after 5:30 today.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the First Baptist Church in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Danny Jones and Dr. Andy Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery.
