JACKSON -- Funeral service for Harry L. Talley of Jackson will be at 10:30 a.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Rodney Travis will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Talley, 76, died Sunday, June 16, 1991, at Deal Nursing Home.

He was born Nov. 2, 1914, near Millersville, son of Walter B. and Flora M. Browning Talley. He and the former Carrie E. Statler were married Dec. 18, 1933, at Sedgewickville.

Talley was a farmer until moving to Jackson in 1938. He then worked with livestock, and was part owner of Fredericktown Auction Co. 10 years, retiring in 1976.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Excelsior Lodge and Jackson Optimist Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Carl Talley of Jackson; a daughter, Ruth Phillips of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Willard Talley of Jackson; four sisters, Mabel Seabaugh and Dorothy Crites of Jackson, Eula Statler of Cape Girardeau, Helen Schnare of St. Charles, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh Blackman.
