VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Harry L. Hartmann, 73, of Villa Ridge, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 1995, at his home.
He was born May 26, 1922, in Cairo, son of William F. and Rita Lehning Hartmann.
Hartmann was founder and president of Delta Drug Co. in Cairo. He served on the board of directors at First State Bank in Olmsted, and was a member of Mounds VFW. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte; two sons, William Hartmann of Anna, Danny Hartmann of Villa Ridge; four daughters, Karen Wadley of Reidland, Ky., Diane Boget of Villa Ridge, Debbie Stamatikos of Anna, Rita Crain of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Rita Hartmann of Cairo; a brother, James Hartmann of Cairo, and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and infant daughter.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo after 5 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mound City, with the Rev. Bill McGhee officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Villa Ridge.
