PERRYVILLE -- Harry G. Hoffstetter, 81, of St. Louis died Friday, July 23, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood.
He was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Perry County, son of Theodore and Catherine Ochs Hoffstetter. On Aug. 3, 1944, he married Ella G. Boland in St. Louis. She survives.
He had worked in civil service with the U.S. Army Material Command and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in LeMay and a former member of American Legion Post 133 and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Other survivors include a son, the Rev. Gary Hoffstetter of Moberly; a daughter, Janet Thomas of Edwardsville, Ill.; a brother, Gustave Hoffstetter of Perryville; three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant child, four brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. and again Monday from 6:30 a.m. until time of service at Young and Sons Chapel.
Funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Edward Melchior officiating. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
