ANNA, Ill. -- Harry Hinkle, 85, of Anna, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion. He was born on March 20, 1920, in Union County, Ill., son of Lena Jackson Hinkle. He and Logretta Merriman were married on March 27, 1948...

ANNA, Ill. -- Harry Hinkle, 85, of Anna, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion.

He was born on March 20, 1920, in Union County, Ill., son of Lena Jackson Hinkle. He and Logretta Merriman were married on March 27, 1948.

Hinkle was a member of are United Pentecostal Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired after 32 years of service from Louis Brothers Bakery.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patty Pinnon and husband, Clyde, of Wolf Lake; two sons, Michael Hinkle of Murphysboro, Ill., and Thomas Hinkle of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Opal Brimm of Anna; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, a son and a brother.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Anna and after noon Wednesday at Ware United Pentecostal Church.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Interment will be in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery with full military honors by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455, VFW.
