ANNA, ILL. Harry H. "Sonny" Boyer, 67, of Miami, Fla., formerly of Anna, died Aug. 24 at his home as the result of Hurricane Andrew.
He was found in the rubble of a collapsed retirement home.
He was born June 30, 1935 in Anna, the son of Harry Hobart Boyer Sr. and Agnes Lorraine Oliver Boyer.
He was a retired appliance repairman in Miami. While in Anna, he owned and operated Boyer's Body and Fender Repair until he was injured in an explosion at the shop. He moved to Florida in 1954.
He was a charter member of the Anna Moose Lodge and a member of the Eagles Lodge in Miami.
Survivors are two brothers, Donald Boyer and Paul Boyer of Flora, Ill.; one sister, Juanita Williams of Springfield, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna and on Wednesday until time of graveside service at the Anna Cemetery. Steve Shepherd will officiate.
