Harry D. Friend Jr., 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the Lutheran Home. He was born Sunday, June 22, 1913, in Caruthersville, Mo., son of Harry Davenport and Grace Liles Friend, Sr. He and Eulalia F. Kirsch were married Nov. 15, 1942, in Parma, Mo. Harry D. Friend Jr., 92, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Sunday, June 22, 1913, in Caruthersville, Mo., son of Harry Davenport and Grace Liles Friend, Sr. He and Eulalia F. Kirsch were married Nov. 15, 1942, in Parma, Mo. She preceded him in death Jan. 7, 2004.

Friend was a self-employed farmer in the Matthews area. He retired in 1979 and moved to Cape Girardeau from Sikeston. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Lutheran Laymen's League, and the Missouri Farm Bureau.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Randal and Marilyn Friend; and three grandsons, Aaron, Todd and Chad Friend, all of Scott City.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories in Sikeston.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrew Lutheran Church or Notre Dame Regional High School.
