JONESBORO, Ill. -- Harry Leon "Sonny" Dover, 75, of Jonesboro died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003, at his home.
He was born Jan. 11, 1928, in Anna, Ill., son of Lee Andrew and Mae Mariah Brown Dover. He and Audrey Deloris Sims were married July 9, 1946, in Jonesboro.
Dover was a concrete finisher. He was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church, Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, Plasterers and Cement Finish Local 143, Jonesboro Masonic Lodge 111, Scottish Rite, Shrine Club, and past master and 32nd Degree Mason.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Harry Dover of Columbus, Ohio, Bob Dover of Anna, Wayne Dover of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Dana Dover of Jonesboro; two daughters, Dorain Pulliam of Jonesboro, Melody Keller of Anna; two sisters, Mary Britt of Jonesboro, Wanda Bowen of Anna; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and seven brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at Hileman Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Pearce officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 3455.
