SIKESTON, Mo. -- Harry Barnes, 67, of Sikeston died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 17, 1934, in Henderson, Ky., son of Howard and Azillee Barnes. He and Betty Dozier were married May 15, 1969.
Barnes was a wrapper operator with Bunny Bread. He was currently serving on the Miner City Council.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Survivors include four sons, Charles and Ronnie Barnes of Cape Girardeau, Timmy Barnes of Vevay, Ind., Chris Barnes of Sikeston; a daughter, Rosemary Tharp of Benton, Ky.; three brothers, Buddy Fears of Okawville, Ill., Tommy and Michael Barnes of Georgia; six sisters, Charlene Hopkins of Kaufman, Texas, Bonnie Campbell and Tyanne Wagner of Okawville, Renae Cohen of Matthews, Mo., Debbie Moreland of Bentonville, Ark., Gwen Webb of Bertrand, Mo.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Tarter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors.
