JACKSON, Mo. -- Harold Lee Wright, 70, of Jackson died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born March 9, 1931, at Jackson, son of the late Elmer and "Anna" Lillian Nitsch Wright. He and Mollie Haupt were married Nov. 19, 1955...

JACKSON, Mo. -- Harold Lee Wright, 70, of Jackson died Friday, Feb. 1, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 9, 1931, at Jackson, son of the late Elmer and "Anna" Lillian Nitsch Wright. He and Mollie Haupt were married Nov. 19, 1955.

Wright was a tank mechanic and corporal in the U.S. Marines, serving from January 1952 to Dec. 1953. He earned a Korean Medal with two stars, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve on Jan. 7, 1960. He was a lifetime member of the Cape Girardeau VFW. In 1950, he opened Wright's Garage in Cape Girardeau where he worked with his sons until the time of his death. Prior to opening his own business, he worked for the former Superior Electric in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dean and Scott Wright, both of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Donna Stedman of Jackson and Wendy Wright of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Allene Reaves of Grand Junction, Colo.; and 10 grandchildren.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Janet Hopkins will officiate with Missouri military honor guard graveside services and burial in the Russell Heights Cemetery.
