ORAN -- A service was held this week for Harold J. Schoen, 61, of Cheraw, S.C. He died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at his home, of an apparent heart attack. Schoen was born March 1, 1937, at Oran, son of Lawrence and Bertha Kapfer Schoen.

He had worked for Ina Berring in Cheraw. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-59.

Survivors include two sons, Michael and David Schoen of Cheraw; a brother, Arnold Schoen of St. Louis; three sisters, LaVerne Bucher of Pacific, Loretta Ross of St. Louis, Elvira Stone of LaVista, Neb.; and a granddaughter.
