Harold L. Pruitt, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Cairo, Ill., son of Irvin and Helen Kniebert Pruitt. Harold L. Pruitt, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Cairo, Ill., son of Irvin and Helen Kniebert Pruitt. He and Annie Green were married June 13, 1953, in Cape Girardeau.

Pruitt served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Occupational Forces in Japan.

He worked at the former Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau, was a truck driver and worked in the warehouse at the former Mineweld Co., and the former Paramount Liquor Distributors in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 1987.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Christine and Donna Pruitt of Cape Girardeau.

A private service was held Wednesday.

McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau was in charge of arrangements.
