DEXTER -- Funeral service for Harold Parris Sr. of Dexter will be held at 2 p.m. today at Rainey Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Vernon Percer will officiate, with burial in Dexter Cemetery.

Parris, 57, died Wednesday, March 27, 1996, at his home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1938, at Caruthersville, son of Robert A. and Gladys Lawrence Parris. He and Loretta Joyce Hatch were married Nov. 25, 1955, in Holly Springs, Miss.

Parris retired as a truck driver with Arkansas Best Freight. He was a member of Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Parris Jr. of Columbia, Perry Parris of Cape Girardeau; his mother of Dexter; two brothers, Robert Parris Jr. of West Plains, Kenneth Parris of Dexter; two sisters, Barbara Kirby of Dexter, Brenda Flanigan of Tulsa, Okla., and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son.
