COMMERCE, Mo. -- Harold Jackson Moore, 89, of Commerce died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 11, 1919, at Hayti, Mo., son of Jack and Eula May Riggs Moore. He and Hettie Mayberry were married Jan. 28, 1946, and she preceded him in death on June 27, 1988.
Moore was a farmer. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the Commerce Baptist Church.
He was survived by and loved by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. David Thompson will officiate, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce with full military rites.
