Harold "Tom" Holloway, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born Feb. 3, 1920, at Illmo, son of Ulysses and Della Mae Anderson Holloway. He and Juanita Crader were married April 22, 1950...

Harold "Tom" Holloway, 83, of Jackson died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 3, 1920, at Illmo, son of Ulysses and Della Mae Anderson Holloway. He and Juanita Crader were married April 22, 1950.

Holloway served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a member of Teamsters Local 604 in St. Louis and drove 22 years for Complete Auto Transit, retiring in 1978. Later he worked as a boiler room engineer at Southeast Missouri Hospital, as a chauffeur at Chateau Girardeau and also worked at Country Mart in Jackson. In 1994, he was forced to quit working. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ivan Holloway and Larry Holloway of Jackson; three daughters, Wanda Varney of Jackson, Judy Beattie-Hicks of Cape Girardeau and Doris Woods of Benton, Mo.; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by two sons, four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Charles Lance officiating.

Burial will be at Fairmont Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with a military honors service.
