Harold C. Golightly, 83, of Jackson died Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 5, 1924, in Sikeston, Mo., son of William H. and Irene Baugh Golightly. He and Delores Marlene Barks were married Aug. 18, 1951. She died May 11, 2003.
Golightly was a 1941 graduate of Cairo High School, and served in the U.S. Navy from July 22, 1942, to June 2, 1962.
He lived in Bollinger County, farmed, did carpentry work, and worked at the former LeeRowan Co. He and Delores owned and operated Golightly Greenhouse from 1970 to 1987. He retired from Procter and Gamble in 1984.
Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Reynolds and Barbara Ebert of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Gary and David Golightly of Jackson; and six grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
