Harold Gabauer, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at the Missouri Veterans Home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1927, in St. Louis, to Gustav and Mary Francis Basham Gabauer.
Harold served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include a son, Mark (Lucy) Gabauer of St. Louis and their children, Sarah, Timothy, Laura, Brian and Thomas Gabauer; two daughters, Sue (Dr. Roderic Crist) of Cape Girardeau and their children, Andrew and Cole, and Karen (Jay) Tompkins of Atlanta and their children, Hanna, Mitchell and Mason Tompkins; and a great-granddaughter, Lily Tompkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Iris Martin Gabauer.
Private service will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
