OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. — Harold L. Foster, 80, of Olive Branch passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, in Olive Branch.
He was born Jan. 11, 1944, to Henry C. and Effie Mae Twente Foster in Olive Branch. On Dec. 30, 1964, Harold married his forever love, Sharon Coleson, and together they spent over 59 years together in love, and she survives.
Harold was a truck driver, among other things. He was mechanically gifted and could fix anything. He was very passionate about anything that involved using his hands, which made him a great problem solver and certainly helped his various occupations and side jobs. Harold was also an avid musician. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, and was very faithful to his church and family. He even met his sweetheart at church. He grew up and raised his family in his hometown of Olive Branch.
He is survived by his wife; sons, Timothy C. (Cheri S.) Foster and Leslie H. Foster; daughters, Yolanda K. Doughty and Belinda M. (Gregory D.) Gibson; 12 grandchildren, Steven Nolkemper, Brittany Below, Breanna Foster, Alex Doughty, John Doughty, Nathan Doughty, Tinsleigh Doughty, Makayla Doughty, Austin Gibson, Jayden Gibson, Natoma Gibson and Logan Gibson; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Minnie McCoy; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his three grandchildren, Skylar Ray Gibson and twins, Spencer Foster and Tyler Foster; and five siblings, Margaret, Nellie, Edith Mae, Allen Ray and John.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at Crain Funeral Home, 829 N. West End Blvd, in Cape Girardeau and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at First Assembly of God Church, 312 Dearborn St. in Scott City.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church, with Randy Morris officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Olive Branch Cemetery in Olive Branch.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses. Memorial contribution envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
