JONESBORO, Ill. -- Harold D. "Bing" Cozby, 80, of Jonesboro died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 1996, at Illinois Veterans Home in Anna.
He was born Dec. 18, 1915, in Jonesboro, son of George Crawford and Mary Hoss Cozby. He and Meta Powell were married July 18, 1942, at Jackson, Mo.
Cozby had owned a grocery store, and served on Jonesboro City Council several years. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, was a Sunday School teacher and served on the church council, and had been a member of Jonesboro Volunteer Fire Department. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Cozby of Jonesboro, George Cozby of Jackson; a sister, Helen Sanders of Anna; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 5-8 p.m. today, and Thursday from noon to service time at Salem Church.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Salem Church, with Pastor Rick Hertenstein officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery.
