Harold Annis

Harold Jr. Annis, 83, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

Born Dec. 11, 1932, in Painton, Missouri, he was the son of Earl and Iva Elvenia Jones Annis. He married Dorothy Jean Urhahn in June 1951. She preceded him in death in December 1996. He later married Betty Sue Chitwood in January 2000. She preceded him in death in February 2013.

For many years he was self-employed as an independent postal carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna (Jeff) Mangrum of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Pamela (Wai) Chiu of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Herbert (Thelma) Annis of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Brandon Chiu of Cape Girardeau, Michelle Davis of Seattle and Tabatha Davis of Farmington, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Jack Lee of Marmaduke, Arkansas; and a great-grandson, Devin Bell of Farmington.

A sister, Ruby Lee, and his parents predeceased him.

A graveside service will be at a later date at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri, is assisting the family.
