Harley Lee Eddleman Sr., 95, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, June 8, 2007 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born April 29, 1912, in Biehle, Mo., son of Christopher Columbus and Barbara Ann Fulbright Eddleman. He and Gladys Noland were married Aug. 14, 1948, in Arkansas. She died May 17, 2001.
Eddleman served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by Wiethop Trucking as a mechanic when he retired. Eddleman was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church. He held several offices while at Third Street United Methodist Church. Eddleman was a member of Capaha baseball team from 1943 to 1947 and was admitted into the SEMO Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a longtime Southeast Missouri State University booster supporter.
Survivors include a daughter, Paula Siemers of Cape Girardeau; a son, Harley Lee Eddleman Jr. of Marble Hill, Mo.; a brother, Rodney Eddleman of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Ennid Breen of Sanford, Fla., Gay Ryan of St. Louis; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Janet Hopkins will officiate, with burial in Cape County Memorial Park, Cape Girardeau.
