Harley E. Poole, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 18, 2010, at Heartland Care and Rehab in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 12, 1940, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Jesse and Eva Burgens Poole. He and Bonnie J. Lawson were married Aug. 28, 1958, in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Poole worked for Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau for 35 years. He later worked for Rubbermaid in Jackson, retiring in 2003.
He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Poole is survived by his wife; a daughter, Tammy (Jeff) Deimund of Cape Girardeau; a son, Todd (Renee) Poole of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Thelma Louise Bell of Cape Girardeau, Verda Mae Cavaness of Mascoutah, Ill.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Travis Shane Poole; and 11 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Revs. E.D. Francis and Bill Joyce officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
