SIKESTON -- Harley Dover, 83, of Wentzville, died Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at Doctors' Hospital in Wentzville. He was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Oran, son of John Wesley and Bird Cooper Dover. He married Jewell LaVerne Curley, who died May 3, 1978. Dover was a maintenance worker 16 years at Mallinckrodt Chemical Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in St. Louis. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II...

SIKESTON -- Harley Dover, 83, of Wentzville, died Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at Doctors' Hospital in Wentzville.

He was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Oran, son of John Wesley and Bird Cooper Dover. He married Jewell LaVerne Curley, who died May 3, 1978.

Dover was a maintenance worker 16 years at Mallinckrodt Chemical Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in St. Louis. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include a son, John Dover of Foristell; three brothers, Veachel and J.C. Dover of Sikeston, Durward Dover of Oran; two sisters, Nota Ables of Sikeston and Hazel Howe of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Tom Geers officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
