JACKSON -- Harlan W. Niswonger, 94, of Jackson died Thursday, Sept. 5, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 25, 1901, at Doniphan, son of G.O. and Radia Niswonger. He and Retta Marie Turner were married May 9, 1925. She died April 27, 1965.
Niswonger had worked at International Shoe Co. 40 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church and sang in the JOY Choir.
Survivors include a son, Dallas Niswonger of Jackson; a daughter, Doris McMillan of Jackson; three brothers, Woodrow Niswonger of Cape Girardeau, Glenn Niswonger of Foley, Ala., Jess Niswonger of Jackson; two sisters, Opal Tallent of Jackson, Ruby Caldwell of Chesterfield; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren; and a great-great-stepgrandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Raney officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
