On Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, Harlan Ray Duncan, aka "Uncle Dunk", departed this world at his home. He was 81 years old. He was born June 5, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Estel and Glenna Duncan. On June 15, 1963, he married the love of his life, Beverly Sue Conyers. They had two children, Derrick Ray Duncan and Michelle Dawn Duncan Stoverink...

On Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, Harlan Ray Duncan, aka "Uncle Dunk", departed this world at his home. He was 81 years old.

He was born June 5, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Estel and Glenna Duncan. On June 15, 1963, he married the love of his life, Beverly Sue Conyers. They had two children, Derrick Ray Duncan and Michelle Dawn Duncan Stoverink.

Harlan was a local car sales manager for more than 20 years and later became the highway engineer of Scott County Highway Department for more than 10 years.

He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3319. One of the many projects he performed with the Eagles was establishing and opening the Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Center in Sikeston.

Harlan loved country music and dancing. He and his late wife, Sue, had the smoothest sway of anyone on the dance floor.

He is survived by his best friend "brother," Larry Tucker of Benton, Missouri; daughter, Michelle (Terry) Stoverink of Marble Hill, Missouri; three grandsons, Kane Duncan of Marble Hill, Dustin (Morgan) Duncan of Sikeston and Derrick Allen Duncan of Sikeston; and three great-grandchildren.

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, son, wife and a brother.

Private graveside services are pending with Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
