ANNA, Ill. -- Harlan Basham, 93, of Anna and formerly of Cypress, Ill., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at the Union County Hospital in Anna. He was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Owensboro, Ky., son of Warner and Sarah Spencer Basham. He married Lorena Jones. He was a retired grain and stock farmer in the Cypress area. ANNA, Ill. -- Harlan Basham, 93, of Anna and formerly of Cypress, Ill., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2001, at the Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born Aug. 9, 1908, in Owensboro, Ky., son of Warner and Sarah Spencer Basham. He married Lorena Jones.

He was a retired grain and stock farmer in the Cypress area. He was a member of the Nazarene Church at Anna. He was a past member of the West Eden Methodist Church near Cypress.

Survivors include two daughters, Beulah Pearl Bunker of Karnak, Ill., and Jean Canupp of Kansas City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers, two sisters, a daughter and four grandchildren. His wife, daughter, son-in-law and four grandchildren all died in an auto accident May 6, 1971.

Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dr. Richard Keeley officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery at Cypress.
