HALEY M. ABERNATHY

ZALMA -- Haley M. Abernathy, 73, of Zalma died Friday, Oct. 16, 1992 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 5, 1918 in Bollinger County, daughter of George and Lizzie Blake Slaughter. She was a homemaker.

She married Marvin Abernathy and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1977.

She is survived by two sons, Kelly Abernathy and Mitchell Abernathy, both of Jackson; two daughters, Loritta Kidd, Cape Girardeau, Gloria Arnold, Bloomfield; two brothers, Verman Slaughter, Delta, Pete Slaughter, Zalma; one sister, Ruth Collins, Jackson; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson.

Funeral service will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance with the Rev. James Brown, of Millersville Christ Gospel Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Berrong Cemetery near Gipsy.
