CHAFFEE -- Hagg C. Adkins, 98, of Chaffee, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 1991, at Chaffee Nursing Center.
He was born Feb. 6, 1893, at Advance, son of James Alvin and Rose Shrum Adkins. He married Vanira Leona Crockett Oct. 20, 1920, at Benton. She died Dec. 5, 1987.
Adkins was formerly of Cape Girardeau, and had been a maintenance worker at the Marquette and Idan-Ha Hotels. He was a member of First General Baptist Church, VFW Post 3838, American Legion Post 63, and Disabled American Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Adkins of Metropolis, Ill.; a daughter, Carma Reiker of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Audie Long and Frank Bain officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
