H. Lucille Hager, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 5, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born on April 26, 1924, at Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Walter F. and Christine A. Keller Hager. She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1941. ...

H. Lucille Hager, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 5, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center.

She was born on April 26, 1924, at Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Walter F. and Christine A. Keller Hager.

She graduated from Cape Girardeau Central High School in 1941. She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She received a graduate degree in library science from the University of Illinois. She was a member of American Theological Library Association and the American Library Association, Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and its Ladies Junior Aid. She was a librarian at Southeast Missouri State University from 1945 to 1952 and a librarian at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis from 1952 to 1974. She was named director of Concordia library in 1962. She was director of the library at Christ Seminary in St. Louis from 1974 to 1983 and director of the library at the Lutheran Seminary Program in the Southwest at Austin, Texas, from 1983 to 1990. She retired in 1990 but continued to work part time until 2002, when she moved back to Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two brothers, Weldon Hager and Dr. Harold Hager of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Jeanine Hager of Cape Girardeau; two stepnephews, Ronald Brockmire of Memphis, Tenn., and Lonnie Brockmire of Farmington, Mo.; two nieces, Wendy Kunc and her husband, Karl, of Burke, Va., and Kim Train and her husband, Spencer, of Houston, Texas; a great-niece, Katy Kunc of Burke, Va.;, and a great-nephew, Keenan Kunc of Burke; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Mary Hager.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church.

The Rev. Douglas Breite will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran School Building Fund.
